One in three of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest thing most of us will ever face.

Last night there was a charity music night in our small village to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Live music from Damien, a disco from Dave, and raffles which included ‘a ham’ and a cake (made by Carole) were amongst the prizes.

Sadly I didn’t win any prizes, although most people were impressed by the fact that not only did I keep my new shoes on all night, I actually managed to dance in them!!

A local bar owner, Reddy, gave us the use of the room in ‘The Black and White’ and Gordon, Christine and Hannah organised the raffle and sold tickets.  It was well attended by our small village standards, we even had American friends here and over 200€ was raised.

If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, or a loved one has, you’ll want a team of people in your corner supporting you every step of the way.  Macmillan Cancer Support (and other organisations like them) provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care.
