I live in Andalucía in the beautiful southern part of Spain which is the largest of the 17 regions of Spain and Andalucía is broken down into 8 provinces of which I live in the province of Granada.

I have lived in rural Andalucía for almost 13 years but am originally from England.

I find the scenery here in Spain stunning.  There are amazing sunsets and the colours of wild flowers, almond blossom and poppy fields in the Spring and trees in the area are an inspiration for both my photography and my art.

Hi there and thanks for the follow! I had intended to write a comment several days ago whilst perusing your blog, alas, must have gotten distracted. I too love Spain and hope to retire to Malaga in about 5 years. I admire people like you who can live in a rural area. I have a degree in Spanish and have studied it for most of my life but I still don’t think I could live in a rural area either in Spain. I couldn’t do it here in my own country either. I’m a city girl through and through 🙂 Oh but anyway, I won’t go on and on. It’s nice to meet you and I look forward to perusing more of your blog and reading about your experiences in southern Spain!

    • Thanks for taking the time to comment. Malaga is a lovely place, often misunderstood as people think of Torremolinos or coastal resorts. Malaga old town is beautiful and steeped in history. There are certainly more people in Malaga who speak English, but even in rural areas the younger generation are desperate to learn. My Spanish is ‘fluid’ rather than ‘fluent’ and you would be surprised how much the locals help you along.
Nice to meet you too, encantada, and once again thanks for stopping by.

What a lovely blog you have. I had the pleasure of studying a semester in Seville and I was able to travel around Andalucia. I absolutely loved it.

I have heard so much good of Spain that I wish I can have tour. I had a student doing her MBA program here in India and she was a very intelligent and cultured person.
    Best wishes to you!

I normally go to Estepona about 4-5 times a year. I absolutely adore Andalucía, it has everything and little bit more, :).
